From the stages of Europe to the studios of Mallorca — movement has always been my world.
I grew up with movement. At ten years old I entered the National Ballet Academy in Amsterdam — and for the next decade, dance was everything.
From 2001 to 2019 I performed as a professional ballet dancer with some of Europe's leading companies — Dutch National Ballet, Companhia Nacional de Bailado, ITDansa, Tanz Theater München, Norrdans, and others. Nearly two decades on stage, touring across Europe, living and breathing movement every single day.
That life taught me something invaluable: how to know your body. How to keep it strong, flexible and healthy — and how to listen when it tells you something is wrong.
Three years ago I left Amsterdam for Mallorca. I was looking for something different — a slower pace, more nature, living on a stunning Mediterranean island.
I teach at Alicia Pilates in Alaró — a local studio on the island. Being part of and serving the local community means a lot to me.
Alongside the studio, I am building an online practice for people who want to go deeper — wherever they are in the world.
It was a knee and back injury that brought me to Pilates. During my rehabilitation I discovered the method — and I was immediately hooked. Not just because it helped me recover, but because of the depth of it. The precision, the intelligence, the way it connects body and mind.
I completed a 500-hour comprehensive Pilates teacher training at Smartbody Pilates Studio in Amsterdam, and began teaching alongside my work as a guest ballet teacher for professional dance companies across Europe. I also completed a 200-hour Vinyasa & Hatha Yoga teacher training in Portugal.
